Stephanie Kowal is a Canadian film composer based in Los Angeles. She came to Los Angeles in 2016 when she attended the renowned Scoring For Motion Pictures And Television Program at the University of Southern California. Since graduating in 2017, Stephanie has been actively involved in both the Canadian and American film industries; she was the recipient of the SOCAN Foundation award for Best Original Theme in 2018 and was simultaneously selected as one of eight winning composers for the Los Angeles Live Score Film Festival. In 2018, Stephanie scored her first two feature films entitled ‘Sir John A and the Cure of the Anti-Quenched’ which made its Canadian debut in early 2018 and ‘A Good Girl’ which is set to premiere in late 2019. In addition to this, Stephanie has been working as assistant to Emmy nominated composer Tony Morales where she has been able to work on scores for programs such as NBC’s ‘Scorpion’ and Disney’s ‘Elena of Avalor’. Stephanie is a lover of unusual ideas, minimalism and simplicity. Her unique voice as a composer lends itself to many forms of media and genre.
